never

never was created from field recordings made in Lisbon, Portugal; Toronto Island, Canada; the Kripalu Center in Western Massachusetts; and Fairfield, Connecticut. It also includes piano played traditionally and with extended techniques, found objects, and explorations with the Music Thing Modular Workshop System.

The album draws on the traditions of musique concrète and electroacoustic composition, and was shaped through granular synthesis and other forms of audio processing.

I invite listeners to take in this short album with headphones.

Inspired in part by my time working with a talented and very creative group of musicians at the Dyski Sound Maps residency on Toronto Island, led by Tom Whitwell and Dion Star. Thank you to every one of you.
